Survivor Skills Convention???

A few of us have been talking about trying to have a get together for the Family here at Survivor Skills. I don't know how many times I have heard people say they would like to meet eachother.

Well as difficult as it would be for everyone to come together at the same time in order to do that, I think it may be worth a shot.

This thread is the first step. If you have any ideas that might help in this endevour, please post them here. Possitive or negative, good or bad...don't be shy. If you think it would work or not let us know.

First things first. We would have to find a location that would be central to most everyone here. Keep in mind that we are all over the place...so this would not be easy. We would need a place with activities for families...those who have children also.

We would need to see when a good time would be to have it.

We need all kinds of input...

I will start...

According to the guest map on the bottom of the page, most of us are in the midwest to eastern part of the U.S. My mind is telling me St. Louis, MO would be central for most. I also like Gatlinburg, Tennessee..only because I know what there is to do there. Time wise I am thinking....June of 2007 sometime. It would take that long to get it together...at least.

So there is the start. Please feel free to give your opinions on this matter. If you have any ?'s.....Please Pm Wildcat42, Smom, or  myself. We will try to answer as best we can. If you would like to help...then for Gods sake volunteer, Please!!!!  The more help the better.

I think that's a very cool idea Tara and WC...but at my current age I probably wouldn't be able to attend....if we make this an annual event I'd love to make some in the near future.

I am all for it as well and also would be willing to help with whatever is needed. Although I am a good 4 hours from St. Louis so wouldn't be able to do any of the actual footwork there.

I almost think that we need to choose a location that has someone living there so that they can do the footwork. I haven't looked but does someone live in the St. Louis area?

I know that 3 of us live in the Kansas City area (imagine that we have NEVER met....unless it was in the line at Wal Mart and we just never knew it!). So I propose that location as well.

I'm 16 going on 17 guys....I'm sure my mom would like me saying, "Oh hey mom, you know that forum I always visit....yeah that one. Well, they want to get together, so I'm going to be with all these strangers who I only know from the Internet." That'll go over well.  '> Maybe the next one though.

I do public speaking but I think Jynx would be the obvious candidate for host or MC..Without him we would not be a forumily...

I would absolutely love this but I havent made it home in over 2 years and if I did this instead of planning a trip home my family would freak.....if i make it home this summer then next summer with you guys would be a definate possibility.
