Personally, I do admit it goes against the continuity that Probst said after Pearl Islands, but I also think that this is probably the most fair way of doing it.

Well this takes care of people complaining that some of the people that are voted off right away don't get a chance.  I can imagine if I were out there Id like to know there was a chance that I could still be in it if I were to be voted out.  Its not the worst idea.

I think its better then the Outcast twist but I don't like how it turned out in the Jewish version

Its not that I don't like it, its more as if I want to give it a chance to play out and see how it goes from there. Cause really, it can go either way - really good or really bad. But I do like the war theme in there too. Just hope it doesn't suck out too much time from the main game.

Hi everyone! Happy Festivus!


Ok, now that the civilities are out of the way, on to Survivor! The new twist? Don't like it. Not one bit.

I'm tired of the gimmicks, of Exile Islands, Outcasts, Medallions of Power, HIIs growing on trees, final 3 instead of 2, All-Stars seasons and of moronic initiatives like for instance, dividing the tribes based on age.  To name a few.

Although I'm not a fan of them, I think switches are a necessary evil in cases when a tribe clearly dominates over the other and events and boot order become too predictable.

And I will confess I didn't find the HIIs thing too unbearable this season, but they didn't overdid it like in Samoa, where it was borderline ridiculous.

Still. I could do without all that stuff. I'm a purist. I want another season like Borneo one day, with just 16 people playing the game, a merge and final 2. And a decent reunion, that would be nice too...


So that Redemption Island thing? Not a fan. I hated the Outcast twist and though I hope I'm wrong, I have a funny feeling I'm not gonna like that one either.

Totally disagree with all the added twists and turns.  But, if I recall correctly, Jeff hated the idea of those voted out (Pearl Island) coming back to compete in the game unannounced to the remaining Tribes.  This spin on a rather stupid twist in Pearl Islands is a bit more challenging and just might cause more thought into who the Tribe will be voting out at Tribal Council.  Also, I heard rumour that both Rob and Russell (this is the worst concept - it didn't work for Stephanie and Bobby-Jon) cannot be voted out until the Tribes merge.  Anyone have any confirmation on that?

I certainly never heard anything about that. Namely due to the fact that there's no confirmation that they're even there. Also, I'd like to point out that it wasn't the case for Bobby Jon OR Stephenie in Guatemala, and that I'd argue the concept of bringing them back DID in fact work that season.

Bringing back Bobby Jon and Stephanie for Guatemala ONLY gave them a second chance at winning.  The same will apply to Rob and Russell.  Rob has played the game 3 times, Russell 2 times...Why does anyone think they'll win this time? 

Also, if it was such a positive and mind blowing decision to bring them back...you think Jeff would have mentioned it at the Nicaragua reunion show.  I think this idea is backfiring big time in CBS's face, and the less hype they throw around, the better the chance that the show won't die in ratings. 

I'm a HUGE Survivor fan and will still watch it...I'll hate every moment of air-time that these two loosers get.  Read all the other boards on the internet...I don't think there has been one favourable comment about these two coming back to play....AGAIN! 

As for the Redemption Island twist...the more I think about the concept, the more I like it.  It adds another plausible dimension to the game. 

And yes, I did hear thru the "grapevine" that these two "tribal leaders" <russell and rob> cannot be voted for at Council until the Tribes merge.

Guatemala also lacked any announcement of Bobby Jon and Stephenie's return to the game. They're probably keeping it small so that people won't get distracted from the Redemption Island twist and to keep the suspense. Casual fans wouldn't know of the return of anybody until they show them on the actual episode. Guatemala's cast reveal also lacked Bobby Jon & Stephenie's appearance in the pre-show photos. We might expect the same. There's nothing to say that Rob & Russell won't be met with enthusiasm at the moment. Just see how it plays out and focus on the Redemption twist. I think you might enjoy the season more that way if so.

I assure you that there's no way the producers would be stupid enough to have Rob and Russell be Immune until the merge. That just tarnishes any credibility they'd have if they DID wind up winning. Hell, it would be crazy and dumb in itself to have them sucking up airtime if they were just around camp and didn't vote/do challenges at all, but if they could vote and do challenges but not be voted off, then not only would it ruin any credibility they'd have, but it would also make everybody out there resent them to such a degree neither would ever win even if they DID make it to the end, so I highly doubt that even if they ARE there that they'll be immune past anything other than MAYBE the first TC. People are just completely speculating since Missyae got sued and charged by CBS along with SU and Blackwhale, and Russhole is getting charged for being his S19/S20 source. So...even if Russhole is on, we'll probably get a different kind of editing for him.

Oh that's all they're going to do - suck up air-time. Besides, who gives a flying f to see those two losers ever again? Not me, for one. We're just going to get more boo-hooing, count on it, what wusses!! Yeah, and I have no doubt that they'll have them dressed up in their stupid wife-beaters none-the-less.
