Do the ends justify the means in Survivor? Is it just a game where all is fair? Or is there an ethical line you would not cross to win the million dollars? Would you insist on playing the game with 100% honesty, or is a certain amount of deceit acceptable to you? Take a quick break and go to my website (howtowinsurvivor.com) and take my Survivor Ethics survey. It presents various ethical quandries in 16 Survivor scenarios and asks you to score them on how comfortable you would be resorting to each behavior if you were playing Survivor. Once we get a large enough response pool, I will rank order the scenarios from least acceptable to most acceptable and report back, so we can all see how our membership feels about dishonesty and disloyalty in the game. Not at all. Richard Hatch would remind us that "It is just a game" and that the rules of everyday life do not apply in the world of Survivor. There are no villains and saints - just some players with a wider range of strategy options in their bag of tricks than other players.
