Not til September!  Long dry season until then!

I'm interested to see how the 3 tribes breaks up the current trend of a day 1 alliance of five, certainly!

As long as it is a tribe of more than 5, I'm sure an alliance could last provided that they are strong competitors. I guess they would all need to get along really well though. Personally, I'd be more inclined to see how 4 tribes of 5 would go. There is less chance that it could go further as a group of 5 that way.

We had 4 tribes of 5 in Survivor: Cook Islands, but they switched them to 2 tribes in Episode three, which was kind of a bummer to me because I would have rather seen all 4 tribes go all the way to the merge without a switch!

Any idea around when the show will start?

I'd say September 19th since that's been the usual time slot in the past. If not then, a week before, or after.

Yeah Cook Islands - when they switched from 4 tribes to 2 that sucked because it screwed over my buddy.  Cao Boi, I used to work with him when he was on the show.  Nice guy / really interesting to talk to.  Anyways, the Asians were always winning so he was fine.  Then when they went to 2 tribes he was a weaker link because he was a bit older.  Sucked seeing him get voted out.

I don't think theres anyway that there will be a day one alliance make it all the way to the end. Too many conflicting personalities. I think it's going to be 3 groups of 6 with 3 returning players as "leaders". If the predictions are right about whos returning, you would have to be a true superfan to know them and/or remember what types of games they played. Should be interesting to say the least.

Addressing the possibility of an alliance of 5 going through, there is a slim chance but nevertheless a possibility and a chance that it can happen.

I know right! Or at least they could have whittled it down to three tribes of six instead perhaps. A pity really, because I saw photos that showed one of the challenges that had been prepared for all four tribes to play. The one with the evacuee, where they had to bring the stretcher out to a person cuffed to a structure in the sea. Oh well...

Yeah, I could have tolerated three tribes of six! I hope they didn't switch the three tribes up too early for Survivor: Philippines. Hey, maybe they used the challenge you speak of for next season since apparantly there are going to be more water challenges.

I brought along the new logo photo that's up now on CBS.com:
