The Voice-Over from the preview at Survivor: One World Reunion Show:

Jeff:
Well it is hard to believe that we are about to launch our 25th season, take a look at where Survivor is heading next.Survivor, the biggest, most thrilling game on television, is also the most grueling.

For twenty four seasons castaways have been pitted against the elements versus wildlife, and have been taken to the edge of their own limits. Some have payed the ultimate price, pulled from the game with one question in their hearts: What could have been.

Next season, three castawys that were airlifted out, will be given a second shot. They'll join three tribes of new players in one of our most treacherous locations yet, the Philippines. Here, thousands of islands scattered over the South Asian Sea, hide a dark, and sinister secret. The waters are teaming with ravenous sharks, and the land provides no refuge. Deadly snakes rule the jungles, and the furious storms can break even the strongest of spirits.

This time, can the veterns Survive the elements, and the vote, in order to claim the million dollar prize? Or, will a new castaway emerge as The Sole Survivor?

Find out this fall, on Survivor, The Philippines.

'Survivor: Philippines': Jeff Probst explains the big twist for next season

When Survivor starts back up again in the fall with its 25th season, it will be in a brand new location: the Philippines. Survivor: Philippines recently wrapped filming in the Caramoan Islands, and at the end of the Survivor: One World reunion show, host Jeff Probst revealed both the location and the show’s big twist — that there will be three returning players, each of whom was medically evacuated in a previous season. Each returning player will be on a different tribe, meaning the show is moving back to a three-tribe format for the first time since season Survivor: All Stars back in season 8.

Probst explained the thinking for the twist to Entertainment Weekly while on location back in March. “First we decided on three tribes,” said Probst at base camp on the island of Caramoan. “That was the first thing. And that was just an effort to change up the way the numbers were playing. People were locking into these alliances of five. So we thought, okay, let’s try a three-tribe scenario and see what that does. Once we had the three tribes, we talked about are we going to do returnees? I love returnees. I love second chances. I love the losers bracket in sports. I love all of it. So I love these guys coming back. And then we hit on the evacuees and went, that’s it! These are true second chancers. They were pulled from the game. They didn’t quit. They didn’t get voted out. They were yanked.”

I was excited to hear that there will be 3 tribes. I'm surprised that they didn't return to that sooner! Made for a really good format in All-Stars... And makes the competitions that much more meaningful. Less people to hide behind at tribal.

We will see how the 3 tribes works this year as compared to All-Stars. All-Stars was a great season, it will be difficult to come close to that.

I really like the return of the evacuees. I think all three guys are very outspoken and prone to take on a leadership role naturally. So, I think it'll make for some good drama early on. Plus, I enjoyed all three of them in their previous seasons.
