In the battle of new talks show hosts, Katie Couric is queen in the ratings department so far.
Reuters reports that Couric's new nationally syndicated series, "Katie," beat out debuts on Monday by Ricki Lake and Jeff Probst, according to Nielsen ratings.
The ex-news anchor also beat out Steve Harvey's new talk show, which debuted last week.
Couric received a 2.8 household rating with her premiere, which featured guest Jessica Simpson showing of her post-baby figure. That rating was 250 percent higher than Lake's and 150 percent higher than Probst's, Reuters reports.
(Couric had an 8 share of the audience Monday, compared to a 4 share for Cooper, a 3 for Probst and a 2 for Lake.)
The Katie's new show also held the top slot in New York and Los Angeles.
Based on overnight figures from the top 56 markets, she scored the highest rated new daytime talk show since the debut of Dr. Phil in September 2002.
More specific figures will surface next week.
